The Hegemon PLC ID System :
The Hegemon Power Line Control (PLC) Identification System is a system for tractor and trailer positive identification.
The PLC ID system uses the Power Line Control circuit to reliably communicate a unique ID between the tractor and trailer via the power line tether. This allows managers to positively identify tractor and trailer pairing for effective fleet utilization and control.
In addition, the PLC ID has one digital input that can be used to transmit vehicle sensor data through the PLC .
Typical Functions of the PLC ID system connected to the OBC Locator unit:
- On /Off Hook report for singles, doubles and trains
- Positive verification to the driver/dispatch that he has the correct trailer, multiple trailers and dollies
- Dispatch notification of in/out gate
- Updates with location/date/time of dropped trailer last known position
- Alarm notifications from Door Alarms, Reefer temperature
- No additional Airtime costs as reports are sent on the OBC carrier
- Optional inputs from Tire pressure monitors, ABS info, etc.
