Power Line Carrier (PLC) transmits digital data between the tractor and the trailer utilizing the vehicle power line on the existing 7 pin wiring harness.
Hegemon PLC Identifier Tag
1) The PLC Identifier Tag when installed on a tractor or trailer will send out a unique programmable ID number at regular intervals onto the Vehicle Power Line.
2) The PLC Reader when installed on the tractor or trailer will read the ID number from the PLC Identifier Tag on the Vehicle Power Line and output the data on RS232 or J1708.
3) The PLC Gateway The (PLCG) module provides Bi-Directional communications for RS232, J1708 or TTL equipped devices to access the PLC messages that reside on the Tractor and Trailer ABS wire. The module can directly read and program the PLC Identifier/Tag and thus provides wireless devices the capability to read Tractor or Trailer IDs and establish hook and unhook event times - data can also be read from ABS Modules and Sensors on the PLC bus.
